Finally Getting Truck Fixed (pics)

Well the truck is finally in Jersey awaiting a new motor! can't wait to get it back, its been over 10 months without it. Getting a truck without a motor 150 miles from home isn't easy either, the u-haul truck in the pic was almost as old as I am, and the lightning barely fit onto the trailer, 30mph up hills on I-95 isn't fun (for legal purposes the truck and trailer are not actually u-haul vehicles)

Just be glad you got the newer "silver" looking trailers. They are 80" wide; I tried to rent one once and it was an older "orange" one and it was only 75" wide and the truck wouldn't fit!

Good Luck with the rebuild!! I also noticed the rear window is a solid one piece, looks sweet. I'm assuming you put that on, any reason? It looks real good.

Hey! I was there at JDM when you rolled in!
I wish i introduced myself. I was the guy in the white Harley T-shirt smoking a cig when you and Jim Jr were shootin the breeze.

I'm real close to JDM, so if you want me to stop in and snap some pics of the truck when it's underway, just let me know...

I have a solid rear window too...
My truck came from Staten Island, so the original owner changed to a solid rear window to deter thiefs from busting out the slider to gain access into the cab...

I like the clean looks of it as well.

I would love it if you stopped in and snapped some pics of my truck while they are working on it, Jim said it should be done by the end of the month, so they probably won't start it for a couple more weeks.
I hated the look of the sliding window, plus mine was damaged, so I bought the solid off ebay for $125. no more squeeks.

I like the solid windows better myself. On my ext cab I had the solid. I dont see a purpose to the sliding window, especially on my L. I never open it, even more so now that the sealing on it is comming off. However Im not going to pay what I would imagine to be close to 300 dollars for a solid. Thats mod money.

The one nice thing about the rear slide is if you drive around with your windows at any speed opening it will "smooth out" the air coming into the cab. Makes having the windows down a lot nicer.

Do you know if a SuperCrew would fit on that U-Haul trailer?

the lightning barely fit on the trailer, length and width wise, and the capacity of the trailer is 4000lbs, my truck had no motor in it so it dropped the weight. I don't think the supercrew would fit.

What was the cause of your motor going bye bye? And was renting the trailor very expensive? I thought about pulling my Cobra down to Mustang week at Myrtle Beach with my Lightning. so I could have both of my babies with me!!
