I'm still having trouble picturing all the parts, but do I have the get the adapter plate from the Ford Recall Kit, or can I just drop in the 10 row I/C and replace the gaskets?

I've never taken mine apart before so I'm not sure how everything fits toghether...... Though I've seen a ton of pics on:

The recall uses the 01-up intake, which is a different size than the 99-00 one. The recall gives you a special midplate, that has the 99-00 bolt pattern, but allows the 01-up core to bolt to it. So you can use an 01-up core, but you still need that recall midplate.

I just called my buddy at Ford and explained what I'm looking for along with the kit # and he tells me there may not even be a part # for that plate and that it only comes with the kit... The kit details dont even mention a plate, just several gaskets and a I/C.

Are there any online salvage sites that specialize in Ford trucks?

 

i would post in the classifieds on every lighting board you can find that you are looking for one. There are people out there who have them, I've seen some recently (no idea where)

Have your local dealership call around to others (via computer) and find the part.

My dealership sold it to me at cost, becuase they had it on their shelf so long that they were getting ready to send it back to Ford, So they sold it to me at the price that Ford was going to give them on return. I really lucked out.
