Can you help me verify that I have everything correct???
I've ordered HawK HPS Pads and RotorPros slotted and dimpled rotors.
Here are my questions:
1). Here are the part numbers I ordered for the brake pads:
HB299F.650 HPS $68/set
HB301F.630 HPS $59/set
Are they correct?
1). What kind of Grease do I use to re-pack the wheel bearings? What Brand is best etc...
2). Do I use the same Grease for the caliper slides? If not what kind, brand, etc...?
3). What kind of bearing packing tool should I buy?
4). Is there anything I need to grease on the rear brakes besides the caliper slides?
Thanks for anyone who will respond. I have been searching for answers to these questions for 2 days now and I still don't feel like I have the straight answer.
This will be my first brake job and I'm well...a little nervous.
Thanks again!
Jim

I have always used Castrol LM for wheel bearings.
As for grease on the caliper slides, I always used Copaslip because it's good for about 1100 deg and won't melts onto the pads. It's made by Molyslip.
Put a thin smear anywhere there is metal to metal contact.
You can get a "cheapo" bearing packer from Autobarn that works well for hobby use.

You might want to go out and get a Haynes or Chilton manual from Autozone or similar which will walk you through the procedure.
Best of luck.
