Question Efan purchase help

It has been said here that the JDM and JLP units are the same, but the JLP unit does not look as substantial and the cost is $100 less so I have my doubts about that. After limited research I'm undecided between the Flex-a-lite 290, RPM Outlet's dual fan and the JDM unit. The Flex-a-lite and RPM fans are both rated at 5500 cfm but I don't the cfm of the JDM unit. I have had reliability issues with Efans in the past, primarily controllers, and along with performance I am looking for some feedback on longevity. I live in Fla so the fan will be worked pretty hard. Is the JDM unit $60 better than the others? Thanks for the

I'm happy with my JDM e. Fan. But, haven't seen the others to compare.

I got mine from Mark @ Lightningforce Performance. I couldn't be happier with it.

I don't think their is much difference as I-Menace stated. I went with the Flex-A-Lite because they have two fan as opposed to one (just in case one fails)

I installed the JDM kit here in AZ just before summer. So far it's hit 114 and have had no issues. The guys that have the Flex A Lite kit out here keep cooking the main wire module. Now I am no way trying to bash their product or any one who has it, I am just letting you know.

I did learn that the fan RPM sells is indeed the Flex a lite 270. Thanks hyvltge, thats the kind of input I'm looking for. Anyone else having issues with the Flex a lite controller?

I've had one for over a year. I had to replace the fuse holder when it melted on a very hot day, but no problems with the controller.

Thumbs up Flex Controller

I think the deal with the Flex controller is the install location. The instructions say mount the controller on the top of the fan shroud near the upper radiator hose. This location exposes the controller to a lot of heat and has been the source of the controller failing. There is a post reference this where a board member was having this problem and moved the controller to behind the passenger side head light. I have done this with my Flex set up and have not had a problem. I have had the fans since August of last year. I live in TX so it gets hot here and not a problem with the fans.

I've have the JDM for over a year and not one problem. The install instructions with the JDM efan made it eazy.

I've had the e-fan from LFP for over 2 years - easy to install and no problems. Fan setup looks similar to JDM's. By "pictures", it looks like all the single fan setups are all pretty similar.
