would you trade? 1993 Cobra for 2001 Lightning...
A buddy of mine knows someone in our neighboring bordertown of Juarez, Mexico who has just purchased a 2001 Silver Lightning. Apparently, Mexican law states you cannot register a used 2001 or newer vehicle so he proposed I trade him my 1993 Cobra which needs a paint job but in otherwise perfect mechanical and interior shape for that Lightning. Otherwise he is going to have to try and sell it.
Assuming everything with the Lightning is legit (title, it not being stolen, blown engine, etc) do you think it would be a good trade? The way I figure I could probably get $9,000 for my Cobra since it is in need of paint. That would make this "purchase" of an 01 Lightning with 50k on the clock for $9,000.
I'm not getting my hopes up but this deal almost seems too good to be true. Anyone had a silver L with New Mexico plates stolen recently LOL.
Opinions?
Thanks

How many miles are on your Cobra? A clean low mile 93 can go a lot more than $9,000, i've seen some right at $20,000. I have alway's wanted a low mile Teal 93 Cobra, maybe one day i'll get one. If the Lightning is worth more than your Cobra and every thing is legit go for it, then sell it and grab a 93 that is in better shape. Or just pocket the $$$$.
well I got back from checking out the truck and there is no way I would trade my Cobra for that truck. It has been wrecked, poorly repainted and been beat up. It did have cool ghost flames and a hard lid but other than that it was pretty stock except for the nitrous and flowmasters.
Oh well!
