Question Should you grease the pads when installing new ones?

I just read this...I know it's not even close to an L but this guy seems to give good instuctions for doing a brake job.

Should you grease the back of the pads and the shims before installing? Also, can you use the Mobile 1 grease for the caliper pins same as I would use to repack the wheel bearings?

Thanks,
Jim

I wouldn't. Grease can hold dirt in there and ruin your new pads.

I wouldn't put grease on the back of the pads, they make a paste to help quiet down the squeeling.(Usually orange). I would use anti-sieze on the caliper pin's, it can handle the extreme temperature's.

Use only Brake Caliper Synthetic Grease only!
It can with stand high temps without melting and running on your pads.
I use Sta-Lube Brake Caliper Syn Grease. It has molybdenum disulfide, graphite & Teflon. Prevents squeel, chatter & binding. PN SL3301
