Removing the bed...

Does anyone have a writeup of how to remove the bed? I know there are 6 or 8 T45 or T50 bolts that hold the bed down, but what about wiring harness' and and gas fill tube? Thanks

Hello
It is simple to remove the bed. I just finished mine for the fuel pump install.

First remove the 6 T 50 bolts
Then remove the three bolts for the fuel inlet
Then there is a small band under the fuel inlet you need to take off from the under side of the truck
Then there is a wiring harness for the rear lights under the back drivers side disconnect it
There is also a vent for the rear it just pulls off no worries.
The bed is not that heavy we moved it with three people
I really did not take it all the way off just slid it back on and changed the pumps

Does anyone have a pic walk-thru, or is this pretty obvious once you get into it?

If you need pictures on how to take something off and put it back together you might be better off taking it to someone. Not trying to be a smarta$$, just stating facts.

Looks like it's time for me to hang up my tools then, cuz I'm lost without pictures.

i dont have step by step pics... but some food for thought

its really easy to do. from what Jace18 said

-First remove the 6 T 50 bolts

-Then remove the three bolts for the fuel inlet(open your gas door and thats where they are)

-Then there is a small band under the fuel inlet you need to take off from the under side of the truck

-Then there is a wiring harness for the rear lights under the back drivers side disconnect it(its on the frame rail on the drivers side)

-There is also a vent for the rear it just pulls off no worries.(its in front of the spare tire i believe)

Do you guys think I will need a c notch with front: 2 in drop spindles, rear: western chassis front hangers and 3 in drop shackles.

That's 5" total, give or take. You could probably get away with it but it'd just be easier to notch it and not have to worry about the clearance.

Thanks for the picks. By any chance do you have a shot of the rail from the drivers side so i can see the stock front hanger?
Thanks
