Any plans for the door panels?
Plans are to find a set of Harely doors for a reasonable price. If not, I will just spray them satin black. I might just leave them stock if I like the look, they still would go with the seats and headliner.

It takes around 4-6 hrs to strip the front dash down. If you have done one it will take only 1.5 hrs the 2nd time. Most will suggest changing the heater core if your gonna do this mod. It's only like a $40 part. A service cd will help you find all the hidden bolts. The large dash shell if VERY fragile and trying to rip it out will break the piece. I discovered you DON'T need to drop the steering column to remove the dash. The dash will just clear the top of the steering wheel. Here is a pic of what your dash should look like when you start the rebuild.

01-03 HD F-150's are all supercrews, and supercrews have shorter front doors than the extended cab 00 HD's, which use the same door as the Lightnings and f150's.

i never noticed it from pics or seeing the trucks in person, until i went to sit in a 01/02/03 HD and as soon as i opened the door it was the first thing i noticed. feels like a midget door compared to the giant door on my truck

another reason why i dont want to trade up from my 00 to a 02/03 HD. doors just feel too tiny or something

Anyone know what to expect to pay for a leather dash like that. It's exactly what I wanted to do.

If you're referring to the dash on the AI Design website, here's the quote that they gave me...

"The following is a rough
estimate on cost: The dash board upholstered in leather with stitching
is $3500.
The two door panels upholstered in leather with stitching is $3500.
Includes the fabrication of the requested speaker sizes.
The front seats are $5500. Embroidery is additional depending on size
and style..."

Hope this helped...

Those prices must have been if Betsy Ross did the interior. I was told 6k to do a Cobra all leather from the rooter to the tooter. I was told 1500k for the seats (black Leather) and carpet (black carpet) for a lighting. I am going to have mine done this winter in all black.

For the ones that asked where to get black carpets... I got mine from http://www.accmats.com I bought mine back in early 2001 for my Silver 2000, but it fit just fine in my 04. My advice would be to see if you could find a place that makes a "molded" carpet, similar to the stock one. Mine was not molded and I had to cut my own holes and someone mold it to fit the truck.

I just purchased some carpet from ACC and it was pretty much molded to the factory "bumps" in the floor pan. But I had to cut the seat bolt holes out and trim the edges. But it fits very good in the front/side area's. Under the seat/toward the back it's not a perfect fit, but that's under the seat so I'm not really worried about it.

Where is one of Tim's great "crack smoker" pics when you need one.
