Lowering Shackles: a question

I have a '02 and I want to level it out so I am contemplating installing 2" lowering shackles in the rear. My question to those of you that might have done this is it absolutely neccessary to install pinion shims if you install a 2" drop? Thanx for any help. :)

I didn't but from what I hear it is a good thing. I haven't had any problems thus far.....2 yrs and counting. :)

Thanx Chad, I am almost bone stock not making near the HP and torque you are so I think it is a safe bet to install w/o the shims, Thanx again

You should measure and appropiately shim the rear for sure.

A set of 2" shackles won't level it out though. I bought the 2-4" drop shackles from Johnny Lightning and I used the 3" setting to level mine. The 2" didn't look like it dropped it at all.

2 inch shackles on my 03 for almost 2 years no problems and no shims.

If it does not vibrate it should be fine
