Going To the Track.. Need Help!
I am going to the track in a couple days for the first time. I was just wondering if anyone could provide a few tips for me.
First off what tire pressure should I run in my F1's?
How long do I heat them up for?
How long do I need to warm up the truck before a run?
Anything this else you can add?
I can't wait!!!
Thanks Eric

Drive AROUND the water, and then back up . If you drive straight through it the front tires will get wet and the traction can hold water. when you launch the front tires will leave 2 wet streaks in perfect line with the rear tires.
(I don't use the water at all with F1's.)
Also, The hotter I get the tires the slippery they got. I just turn them over a little to clean the tread. I don't smoke the tires.
SO avoid water and don't heat them up a lot.
(Nitto's the hotter you get them, the stickier they are)

24psi.
Heat them up good.
Don't leave from an idle. Load the suspension and let it roll out of the gates, then stomp it.
Works for me, but everyone has their own technique.
i dont thnk there is any need to heat up radials, just drive around the water. also no need in letting your truck warm up just when u get there pop the hood and let it cool for a little bit. the hotter your supercharger gets it effects your et's. since it is your first time i would not worry about putting your rpm's up when you launch just work on cutting the light! when you see that 3rd amber light up punch it b/c by the time you react to that the green one is already lit. i alwasy had trouble with that getting .2xx reaction time until the last two times i went i got it down to .037. hoped that helped and good luck. post some results when u get back.

I can more often than not click off a low 1.8 to high 1.7 on them. Thats at Capital, if anyone knows the area, it's not a well prepped track. But as you said, whatever works for you.
Another tip. Get behind a big tire car, they will heat the track up for you.

Rained Out
No Numbers yet!!
I went to the track last night and well it was rained out. I was very disappointed cause I was so excited. I guess I'm gonna have to wait for another time.
The track is about 1 1/2 hours drive and they only have drags once a month. It is a road course that uses the straight away as a drag strip so I guess I'm SOL untill next month.!
BUT I did see a very nice vet running in the rain on part of the road course. Once I figure out how to post pics I will.

The way you drive the truck depends on track conditions. I would heat the tires, just no John Force burnouts. Go around the water like said. Bring the RPMs up a little. Ease into it the first few runs and see how the track is hooking. Look for other Lightning owners at the track to get some pointers from. Goodluck and have fun! -Mat-
