What idle for cams?

What is everybody getting there idle set at for cams? Just got my new motor installed, and it sure won't idle with the cams. I was guessing about 750~800???

I've been as low as 650 rpms but it's happiest in the 750-775 rpm range on mine.

Mike, Make sure your IAC valve is good and clean. Your truck has been sitting while your engine was getting built.

I have comp stage III cams. Tried 750 for idle and it would die all the time, after about 2 weeks the PCM finally seems to have learned the routine. Although it doesn't die now, when you go from D to P it will drop down to ~500 and almost die and barely catch and then idle at 750. I will probably raise it back up to 800 as it had no problem when set there. Remember if its a new motor and the battery was disconnected it will take some time to get the idle strategy worked out in the PCM.
