456:1 gears with 22s.

Has anyone gone ahead and stepped up the gearing with the larger wheels and tires? How do you like the results? This should work out to be about the equivalent of going to 410s with the stock size wheels and tires.

456 to 1? Man, you're going to have a top speed of 5 mph in 4th gear.

not with 22s... well depending on tire size and overall diameter.. i would say go with 4.10s with the 22's even if they are only 1 inch taller.

So, you guys think an effective gear ratio of 4.35:1 is too low, with 4.56s. 4.10s give an effective 3.91:1 ratio. I might be able to live with that.

Do you think the 3.73's are low enough? I would think 4.10s might be alittle low also... loosing some topend!!

I don't race. I just want to get a little more bottom end power. The stock 3.73 gears take me down to an effective 3.56:1 ratio. Close to stock for the '99-'00 Ls. With the heavier wheels and tires, plus the Metco traction bars, I can feel a loss in bottom end pull. I find it hard to break the tires loose at all. I like being able to cut them loose at will. Just knowing I can is enough for me most of the time.

I'm definately going to 4.10s at the very least.

Then 4.10s it is! I think there are a few guys running them they should chime in and give some feedback.

Yeah, there are. With taller tires than some of the guys that have the 4.10s, my experience won't be quite the same as theirs; but, if I go back to stock sized wheels, there won't be the 4.56s to deal with. That's probably the main reason I won't get them.
