Thinkin about selling the L
Thinkin about selling the L
Well I am getting a house so I have to sell the L to get it.
How much do you all think I can get for it by selling it on Auto Trader or eBay?
The thing is that I still owe about $25k, so I might be SOL.
Please help!
Heres the info:
- 2002 Lightning
- Silver
- almost 53,000 miles
- only mods ever done, currently on:
*Accufab Single-blade TB
*JLP Ram Air kit with filter box and silver REM Tube
*3 gauge pod pillar attachment, with Autometer Lunar boost gauge,
AM Lunar Air/Fuel Ratio, AM Lunar Voltmeter.
*Chrome interior door handles, Billet door locks, billet shifter attachment.
*Billet hood lift covers, i think thats what you call them.
*Gatorback belt
*Bed liner
*Soft tonneau
*Billet grill, Carriage works
*Black and Dark gray Wet Okole seat covers with Lightning logo in white.
- Excellent condition, couple rock chips, and fog light chips.

I buy used land cruisers all the time and here's my 2 cents.
Autotrader.com has the lowest prices, next is cars.com, and a well pictured ebay.com is always ridicules, last in row is a parked car on the side of the road - these people think that their car is gold.
I guess you'd want to use this information in reverse.
Also there are two ways to sell/buy a car and it's pretty basic but it alludes 99% of the common people. If you GOT to sell it, sell it for what it's worth to MOST people, if you WANT to sell it, sell it for what YOU think it's worth.

Im in the same boat.... Want a house. I simply cannot sell the econoline, so the L has to go. I think my totally stock, with some scratches, 40k 2003 is worth around 22 or so. Never been modded and has extended warranty. If I am right, then a 2002 that HAS been modded should be 20 or so.
want add digest 6/3 to 6/10 2003 lightning 700mi blk tint perfect stored no winters 25895 that is a add i read in the digest i bought up state ny .

Really I'm not trying to be Mr. Negativity, but $25k for a 2002 with 53,000 miles?
Here's a story for you that kind of applies.
Over on another forum, the off road talk of the town are 93 - 97 Landcruisers. There's a division between the 93/94 and > 95, but the sweat ones are the 96 and 97 years.
Non-owners are aways asking what's a 96/97 with ~120k miles worth?
The answers are stunning, $16k to $20k for ones with lockers. We're not taking Dual turbocharged Supras are we? Point being here, the owners are in the know, just like the owners are here on this forum. But outside the forum most people can't justify these prices, the key word is "most people" and most people don't need 2 Lightnings, so most buyers will not be in the know catagory.
So how are we suppose to sell our super neat Lightnings, for the maximum amount of money?
You can't and that's why you see reasonable priced genII Lightnings hardly ever moving on the sales sheets.
We have to lower our prices to sell these things and unless a bunch of rich in the know people start buying these things, then things are only going to get worse.
BTW I picked up my last $20k 1996 landcruiser for $6995 (yes, $6995) from Kings Nissan, Cincinnati and boy were they glad to get rid of it
Same story different vehicle.
