When u plug in the x2 to your pc,duz the pc recognize it?On my xp os,i hear a dual tone when i plug it in.When i first used it,xp had to setup the link.In the device manager it shows up under Ports(Com & Lpt) as USB Serial Port (COM7).Com port # may vary..

yeah the software loaded and when i try to run the datalogger it cant find the x2 but i needed it to load the live link and it worked then
you would think this crap would come with a booklet when you buy it to run you thru the steps better
not bad 400 bucks out the door and i cant use half the **** in the damn thing

yeah, instructions would be nice.As far as the logger goes, plug the x2 into the obd port(w/vehicle running),connect the x2 to your pc w/usb plug, open the live link s/w,click the icon in the upper left, pick the pid's you want to log, click ok,the the green icon starts logging, red stops it.
If that doesnt do it then your pc needs the right driver. The live link sw will not "see" the x2 unless it is plugged to a running vehicle

umm ok well i did it this way
pluged the x2 into the truck then started it up then pluged in the x2 to the laptop, clicked on the icon in the desktop screen and it opens up
then when i click on the first little icon onthe screen it comes up with an error screen saying it cant see it or some other bs
i needed the x2 to be able to load the s/w and it told me i was ready to go but hell maybe it lied to me

I had problems with my X2 as well. CHeck device manager for yellow ? or ! points. Delete them if you find any. Reboot the Laptop, the laptop should detect the x2 as a usb to serial device (or link)

LOFL!!!
Until i figured out that there were 2 different posters here,I thought LightninMike lost his mind based on what LightingMike(notice the speeling) posted.I thought u were schizo man!!!! .

Hopefully it works this time
frank

Ps..if your were able to update the firmware, then your pc has established a "link" to the x2..So you can rule out the pc issue

I know it's not much help now - but I should be getting my Xcal2 in a few days. One I have it in my hands, I can try to help you out on this - 'til then I'm totally clueless about it. Sorry Mike
