Cleaning Intercooler

Just wanted to get some of your thoughts on cleaning the intercooler. I hear alot of folks using between 4-6 cans of carb cleaner. Is it safe to just spray a bunch of engine degreaser and let it sit then rinse it off? Thoughts?

just did this 2 weeks ago and BRAKE cleaner worked very well (contains acetone) cut thru baked/caked on oil with no problems. DO NOT GET this in the rotors..will melt/peel off the teflon. Chose this because it dries without any residue (dry!)

i typically use 1 can of b12 chemtool and go back over it with brake cleaner, its faster and cheaper than a case of brake cleaner
