Rocks goes Rounds @ FFW Cordova!!
03LightningRocks won FFW Cordova this weekend. He is a full time follower of the event series and took out 5 competitors to win the Tuff Truck Class. Among those were the #1 and #2 in points. Ron also went many rounds in the Quick ford event. So many that he was in the finals in both QF and TT. They had to wait on him to return from his final round in QF to race his blazing hot truck in Tuff Truck. Even though his truck was hot he was able to run within a tenth of his dial in to take out Dwight Dolliver aka Big D from NLOC. Ron said he had to let off and he probably would have hit his dial in of 11.38 exactly running it out. This weekend was a blast even though it rained half the time we were there and almost cancelled the event. We had our 05 Mustang there and it was running in the 12.4 range. My Dad had SKNHD's Truck there running 10.70/80's. This was at a elevation factor of 3900 Feet!!!!
Ron,
Your deserved it man your truck was consistent but you were in the zone man! Congrats again and Ill see you in Virginia!

Thanks for the congrats. I want to thank everyone for all the help. We have a great group of points chasers this year. Even with them being out of the race and me gaining ground on them....Lacy G. and Don J. where both helping me with encouragement and cooling needs between rounds. Heck, at one point I told Lacey, "to hell with QF, they can have it", he insisted I keep going...LOL. It's pretty bad when the truck can take it, but the driver is about to burn up. I started feeling like it was an Iron Man competition.
I lost count of how many rounds I ran in QF...It was at least 5 or 6, while at the same time doing one qualifying in TT and doing the five rounds Jim just mentioned. That darned truck just kept hitting it's number...I could have cooked eggs on the top of my super charger. Nice job on the truck and the tune by the whole JDM crew. Jim put a great tune on that truck for consistency. My dial was an 11.38 for both QF and TT. At the start of the day I ran a time trial pass full out and it hit 11.37. At the end of the day after at least 10 passes...darn near back to back, it ran an 11.44 with me letting off about 10 foot from the finish line.
Anyway......thank you to Lacey G. , Don J. , Jim, Jim Jr. and Shawn(sp?). I couldn't have done it without all the help and support
.
Oh yeah...and Lacey and Don's wives who where right there cheering me along the whole time....you two guys are lucky to have those gals.
