Can't stop my truck

I need help.
My truck just does not seem to want to stop (pedal way too soft).
Is there something wrong with my ABS?
I installed new brakes & rotors, but it's not getting much better.
I also bled the brake lines....no difference.
Anyone has that problem???

New pads and rotors take about 500 miles to break in. If you are real hard on the brakes before they break in you could of heat glazed the pads and rotors.
ABS will not affect pedal feel unless system is active. If you don't have an ABS light on I would look past the ABS system.

FYI I read some where a while back that when working with ABS equipt cars/trucks. You should not pump the brakes till hard to bleed system. They say you should crack the bleeder and have someone push down on the pedal. When pedal is to the floor then tighten up bleeder. Also when pushin caliper pistons back in you should crack the bleeder so not to force fluid back through ABS pump.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
the problem is that this started with old setup already....and pads/rotors were not that wore down.

How many miles are on your truck.

The master cylinder could be bad?

Do you have a line lock? If you do make sure all the fittings are tight and not allowing air into the sytem.

With the truck not running can you still push the pedal to the floor?

If so pump the hell out of the pedal. Does it get hard?(The pedal)

If it gets hard I would try to bleed the brakes again.

If it doesn't it might be the master cylinder, but not seeing and feeling the problem it is hard to pin point.

I couldn't stop my gen 1 either. I went right through a red light doing like 50 and almost hit a few cars. My problem was obvious though... brake fluid was all over when I got out of the truck.

Yep, I have this problem for @ a year now, and CAN NOT figure it out
I've also tried:
New Brakes
Bleeding
More Bleeding
Changed some Vac lines that looked iffy
took S/C off and made sure it's not a Vac Issue, (its not, I have 20lbs on idle)
Changed the Power Assist check valve thingy
Even tried a Crane Vac Can
NOTHING HAS HELPED

I sometimes do wonder if it's ABS associated cause it will abs at low speeds
Soft mushy no stopping pedal, BUT NOT ALL THE TIME
My trouble comes and goes when and where ever it wants
no ryme or reason
(@^$%(@$%@)($%@($%(@$%@($%(@$

I think I'll HAVE TO try a master cylinder soon and eliminate that possibility???

PLEASE let me know if you find the prob, and I will the same

I would try replacing the rubber brake hoses many times with age they will become soft and expand under pressure also they can deteriate and fall appart inside causing blockage.usualy if you have a booster problem the pedal will become hrd to push and high. A good way to test the booster is to pump the pedal several times with the engine not running, then start the engine with you're foot on the brake pedal, the pedal should drop some when the engine starts.

To bleed master cylinder......

Have someone sit in drivers seat.
Crack brake line furthest from fire wall.
Then have the person push down on brake pedal and hold it .
Tighten fitting.
Do the same for the brake line closest to fire wall.
Hold a rag over line when person pushes the brake pedal down so fluid doesn't fly all over the place.
