Engineers do tend to do that sometimes. :o

What about Typhoon 43's idea?
Lets say instead of fans even just use compressed air on the H.E. right before a race. This might not be a great idea though I don't know much about metals and how they react in temp changes.
Will this harm anything? Could it cool it down to fast and break something? Has anyone ever tried this or seen it.
I know once someone talked about sraying the block but I don't know if they did or not.
If this would not hurt anything that would seem to be the best bet and it is very cheap $5 a can.

Lets hear from any metal experts we have out here.

i do know they do have a halo for the nitrous purge to spray on the HE and it does sound like a good idea but like you said i dont know how the metal would react to cooling off so fast
