Plasma booster good or bad mod ? worth the $$$

First , if all your going to do is B.S. and whine about which "sponser" or vender is the best , save us all the time ,
I come here asking "real" questions looking for help and never seem to get any "real" answers or help .
I'm new at modding computerized / newer vehicles , I'm old school Chevelles , 69 Z 28 kinda guy , so I have the basic knowledge on cars , but the new stuff in out of my league .

Anyone running the plasma booster ? and cooler combo ? I don't remember if it was on JDM or JLP site as a kit ?

Any problems during or after install ?

Steve

I have had the PB for a couple of years now with no failures/issues. FWIW, my NGKBR7EFs have been in now for about 50,000 miles and still fire properly except for a slight 'miss' at idle but that's a characteristic of those 'cold' plugs, not the PB.

I have no add-on cooler.

Why do you think you need this? Are you having spark issues? If you can't answer this..................you don't need it.

I have one. I've been running it for over a year. I didn't expect to gain any HP from it. I just wanted it to maintain my spark on high humidity days. I bought mine used for a C-note. I just think it's part of the overall picture.

1. You have six posts. Just how many times have you been turned away?
2. Insulting the members is no way to get a response. Neither is your 1/2 page sig.
3. You just either don't know how or are too lazy to find the "real" answers that you are looking for. They exist.

I have the mod...........

I'm running 16 psi on the Eaton. Kenne Bell recomends some type of spark assist device for anyone over 10 pounds of boost. I personally went with the Kenne Bell Boost-a-spark. I picked up a miss at WOT once I passed 3500 RPM's, it was steady up to redline. I didnt have that until I went up to 16 psi. I put on the Boost-a-spark and the problem went away.3 months later the problem came back. This time I think its the plugs, sure hope the dang thing didnt quit on me.....It worked for me.

What a great way to introduce yourself by insulting the members on this board. The members freely and willingly share their knowledge and their experience. You're not going to get anything with that attitude. If you don't like B.S. then start by taking a look a some of your mods.

Funny thing about this site is that if your not kissin each others azzes or in the main click your some sort of moron. I watched this site for over a year before actually posted. Ive butted heads with a few post ***** punks. and Ive put in my .02

Yet it still amazes me how some of you guys just mess with anyone who you deem to be unworthy to ask a question.

I will say that its good to see some who dont bite before they bark.

The Plasma Booster has one redeeming quality that most really dont know or are unwilling to accept!...the MSD pulls heat from the cylinder. This is a good quality. MSD have been around for years and have proven their worth. Yet unless it gives you 20+ hp most just laugh and call who ever buys one a moron, so whos the real moron? The one who uses the MSD advantage or the one who puts it down with out really understanding its usefulness?

The Inter cooler chillers have been good for 4/10ths in most cases, another good mod. JL has prolly the easiet to use and install.

Before I get pounced on by the search police. give the guy a break. Everyone hear was a noobe once and had questions.

So have a nice day and cut the guy some slack or dont. Who knows someday he may answer your question.

Scott

Mr. Dunn, I could not have said any better. Just like you I browsed this site for about a year before I signed up in 02. I rarely post just for that very reason of the select clicky few wanting to dump on the new guy.

Now back to the subject. Although I like the PBs and will eventually get them myself. I don't believe you really need them right now with your power. Save your money.

the only real downside that i can think of, (besides no solid hp gain for the claim) is that you have to splice into the wire harness to the coil packs. 03Lightningrocks had stated to me a while back that this was an issue

this might be something worth looking into. I havent heard of anyone that has had these installed yet. Might only be worth it for a fully built motor ect ect.
