Intercooler overflowing?????

Having a strange issue. My intercooler tank seems to leak through the filler cap when parked overnight. Also when I open the cap on a cold motor the intercooler tank spews out approx a 1/2 quart of fluid. I am using a mix of water and purple ice, Any ideas?

Sounds like your system is plugged somewhere, therefore building up pressure in the system. What is your mixture (%water-%coolant-%purple ice)? The purple ice may have chemically reacted with the coolant and caused gelling. This is all speculation on my part, just throwing some potential causes of the problem on the table. I would suggest that you flush out your IC system. Fill it up with 70% distilled water and 30% coolant and see if that corrects the problem.

I can run mine with the cap off and the fluid circulates. (that is at idle though)

Water is not compressible and it shrinks when cooled. Therefore either the purple ice is doing something (I'm not familiar with it?)... or you are in need of "burping the system". (you got air trapped in there)
