E-fan install ? removing tranny cooler line

I am in the process of installing a LFP e-fan on my 03 Lightning. I am at the point where I need to remove the transmission cooler line from the radiator so I can pull the stock shroud and fan out. The instruction say to use a 5/8" wrench to remove this line, but that must apply to earlier year Lightnings as the fitting on my truck looks like you need to use a special disconnect tool.

A standard fuel filter tool won't work and I have been to 4 auto parts stores looking for a tool that will work. For those that have installed an e-fan in an 03/04, how does this line come off? Am I missing something or does this line disconnect some other way that I am just not seeing??? See pic below for the line/connection I am referring to. This is the line that connects to the upper drivers side corner of the radiator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can wiggle the shroud in and out without removing the transmission lines.

If I remember correctly I just used a regular "cresent" wrench to loosen it!

That's what I did also. There are no nuts to loosen and after looking at it a bit I felt it was much faster to remove the upper radiator hose. If you're careful you don't lose any fluid either.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I tried twisting and prying, but my JLP air box was in the way, so I just ended up removing the upper radiator hose like some suggested and it came right out.

Thanks again!!

Jeff
