One more thing
Once you cover the everstart with the OEM battery coer it looks just like the stock battery. The Stock battery in my case lasted 4+ years in Texas heat with no maintenance. 84,000 miles and an after market stereo with amps and sub.

Since the everstart is half the price of an optima and there is no performance gain to be had, other than looks, whats the advantage of the expensive battery ?

If the Walmart battery expires in 3 years its only 3/10ths the way into its 10 year warranty. So you spend $129 on an optima and I spend $55 on a Everstart. Worst case - Mine fails in 2 years and costs me another lets say $20 bucks to replace with warranty. Yours lasts 4 years
In 8 years I have spent $150 bucks and you have spent $258.( plus the extra bling for the ebay battery holder )
I get lucky and mine lasts 4 years now I have spent $110 to your $258
Hmm...
A battery is going to fail its just a case of when.

definately time to get a yellow top...i've got TWO of them in the HD
although two killed my alternator now i got a bling bling 226 amp chrome powermaster motorsports alternator lol

then i've got a redtop in my 85. been working great as well

with drag racing, yellowtop is definately the way to go. can sit in the staging lanes with the E-fan on and the truck off and not have to worry about it killing your battery at all

i would recommend buying it at a local store though. you can find them cheaper online, but if something goes wrong, which once in a while you may get a defective one, its a PITA to ship the battery back for a replacement. worth the extra 20-30 bucks to buy it local at a store and if you have any troubles just get it warrantied right then and there.
