Question Name this part

Well I broke the piece that the connector connects to completely off. I actually had it in my hand and had to fit it back into the part just hoping the electrical pins went back to their correct positions. I have it glued right now and there are no problems so far but I need to replace that whole part. Geeesh sometimes I amaze myself at the stupid chit I do!

Can anbody tell me what this part is or provide a part number for it? Also does anyone know its function? Any help is greatly appreciated.

that's your Vapor Management Valve.

also sometimes called the EVAP Canister Purge Valve -or- Canister Purge Solenoid

part of the EVAP or evaporative emissions system...

it's the part that allows the engine to pull a vacuum on the fuel tank and charcoal canister, thereby burning off stored fuel vapors rather than venthing them to the atmosphere.

if you'll notice, it has two hard plastic hoses coming from it (green and white connectors) one comes from the engine to the valve supplying vacuum, and the other goes down the driver side frame rail and back to the fuel tank and carbon canister. the valve is like a door that opens and closes when the PCM commands.

I BELIEVE that the base part number is a 9C915.

hope this helps.

later,
chris

Yeah, we need Chris. My vote was "flux capacitor."

I was going to go for "jinglehopper" or "snarfblatt".
