who paints the block black?

Who has built an engine for our trucks, and paints the block black?

I have a used L with a black block. Truck had an 8lb lower on it, and he claims to have ONLY had the pully, filter, and a tune.

Another Q, how hard is it to drop the oil pan? will the motor need to be jacked up?

My JDM shortblock came painted black, but I think that was Ford's doing, not JDM's.

I have since corrected that fashion faux pas.

The blocks are coated black from the factory. They are coated prior to machining.

Herb, you can get the pan down but you have to remove the motor mount bolt on both sides then jack it up. Even then you are limited to the distance between the tranny and the under cab. about 3 in.
