Different tune could have a different A/F set in it.

If I were using a completely different tune, I would have considered that.
Just to clarify, it was the same exact tune I've used every time I've been to the track, except this time I added three (3) degrees globally, therefore, it was the same tune with 21 degrees timing (instead of 18).

My truck doesn't seem to gain much beyond 18 degrees WOT from my own track testing. I've seen dyno tests where each degree is only a couple HP.
Looks like my truck is one of these.....

The snow kit may be my next mod. I have heard good things.

Many poeple just run washer fluid since some are just Meth and water.

We are getting ready to install the Stage II kit on an 01 (based on MAF). We have done a lot of Dyno tuning on it already, so we have a solid baseline to compare to. At the 600 HP level you need to go with the Dual Nozzle set up.
It will be interesting to see what impact it has on the tune and AFR. His plan is to install an inline switch and only turn on the Boost Cooler when he switches to his race tune, (X-Cal I) and not change fuels. Now he has to drain his 92 and use 103 before hitting the track. I would be happy to share the results with the board once completed.

Next week we are also doing a 91 Typhoon. He will be using the Variable Contoller that triggers off of boost. (0-38).

Ron

PS..the recommended mix is 50/50 for the gasoline applications, so make sure you have the correct content in the window washer fluid.

I do not have the dual nozzle and have no plans to add it. With the larger nozzle I already have enough alky to change my a/f over 1 full point. Also, on my truck I run 100% denatured alky, no water. When I add water I get a stumbling at the lower areas like getting on the freeway; right where the boost/airflow is enough to trigger but the throttle isn't opened much.

sorry to bring up an old topic here, but i've been looking into this recently. I have heard of some running actual washer fluid instead of methanol. Is this ok? It seems like it doesn't get much cheaper than washer fluid...

You can run that Jim, as it's just a mix of alcohol and water (along with some dye). Problem is that in warm areas like yours there is mostly water and only a small percentage of alcohol, as there's very little freezing danger. If you could get some from a snow area it would be a much higher mix of alky to water.

Also, mine stumbles at high load, light throttle areas with water mixed in (like passing on the freeway without downshifting, climbing a hill, getting on the freeway). I run straight alky because of this.

As mentioned in my previous post, as long as it contains 50% methanol you should be fine. For diesel applications they recommend a 25% methanol content.

We have never installed one on that specific combo, but you might read this thread on NLOC for our results. http://www.nloc.net/forum/showthread...light=methanol
