I have a clean 2000 L with 30 k miles on it and am experiencing a couple of "little problems." Before I take it in to the dealer I was hoping someone here could help me solve them. First, the lighting around the air conditioning ***** goes on and off as I'm driving. It's annoying. Second, I noticed the other day that my "door ajar" light was turned on when both doors were shut properly. This also causes my third brake light to stay on for a long time after I have shut the truck down. I'm going to check the manual to see if it's fuses but I know someone on here has got the answer.

Lubricate the door latches, I haven't had this problem with the L but the work vehicle(F-250) had this problem and I sprayed them with pb blast and it went away. I looked all over the door jam area and couldn't find the switch but read on here that's where they put it.
