Anyone have any ideas why a speedo in a 02' Harley would only work sometimes? There is no rhyme or reason.Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't.Any help would be appreciated.

 

I thought it was normal for a Harley to only work once in a while.

When it works is it normal or does it jump around...

It's electronic so it's either a bad connection to the sensor or a bad sensor itself.

 

Several people have had unending problems with their instrument clusters (not just the speedo) in the Lightnings. In spite of replacing the cluster several times, they report that the problem has continued. That does seem to pooint to either a harness or sensor problem. Do a search under "cluster" or "speedo" and you should find the threads.

 

check the passenger side tranny harness...mine would work the not..burnt wire ...repaired ..works all the time....
