Mobil One 5W-20

I went by advance today to grab some mobile one 0W20. Grabing hold to my 5th quart I noticed a different shape in the bottle. I looked down at the grade, and sure enough it said 5W20. I checked and made sure it was the full synthetic mobil one and it was.

I asked the cashier how long it had been out, and he said 3 years. I checked Mobil One's website, and it has it listed as a new grade.

Has anyone else started using it? Took them long enough to come out with the right Grade. I'll be putting it in tonight.

Mike

Get Mobil 1 Full Syn for only $2.49 a quart at Pep Boys. There was a thread awhile back about the MADD Calendar. In middle of calendar there are buy one, get one free Mobil 1 coupons. The Calendars only cost $1 and obviously go to a good cause. Coupons end 31 Dec 2005. I bought 6 calendars, and subsequently six 6-quart cases, last week. Bum at counter (who kinda did look like The Scarecrow) looked at me like I was crazy. But I'm set on Mobil 1 for the next year for only $75 or so, and I really do hate going in to Pep Boys.

Thanks for the tip polish svt. I just bought 6 quarts today at $5.29 a quart. I am going to pep boys tomorrow and try to get some of those calenders. I think that I was just so happy to find mobil 1 synthetic that I thought I was getting lucky at $5.29.

not to start an oil weight war here, but just out of curiosity, what is the reasoning behind you guys using 0W20 oil? Driving to the north pole any time soon ? j/k that stuff has got to be like water. i see a lot of guys go a little thicker but rarely lower.

bad news

BTW, here is the calendar and the freebies:
http://www.nhtoc.com/forum/showthrea...light=Pep+Boys

Howver, my local Pep Boys pulled 7 boxes worth of calendars. They finally realized the MISPRINT with the coupons (instead of FREE, should have read BUY ONE GET ONE FREE).

So, rush to your local Pepe Boys and grab lots of calendars beore this "snafu" goes away. I had been going back, loading up on the freebies ...was fun while it lasted

the 0W20 was an "acceptable" option for FORD applications requiring 5W20..but it probably did not do very well and has been slowly been overshadowed by the introduction of an actual 5W20
