i also added a maptech HU trim panel, and a Sirius SIRALP1 satellite radio tuner. Great for the long drive between Miami and Gainesville.

I still need to clean up some of the wiring, but so far it's sounding and working great!

Nice setup. What headunit are you running? How hard was it toinstall the headunit mount? What kind of subs are you running? Are you powering them with their own amp?

here's the full scoop:

Alpine 9813 headunit, sirius SIRALP-1 satellite radio tuner.
Boston Pro60 Components powered by jl 300/2 amp.
Two JL 10w3v2's powered by a JL 500/1 amp.

I still wanna add the alpine MP3 6CD changer.

The headunit is really easy to install, just buy the right mounting kit and everything pops right in.

Looks good. How does it sound? I have the same amps (not installed yet). I think I wanna go with one or two 8W7's instead of 10's. So how does it hit?

Nice.

I have the Alpine 9815 in my HD and love it. The previous owner installed all of the audio equipment. I don't really listen to the stereo much when driving because I like to hear what's going on with the truck. I have to say, I've been listening to it a lot though. And when you're doing stuff like detailing, oil changes and stuff where there's a little bit of down time, it's great to listen to.

Once again..looking good.

I would go with a lower level 10" sub, the 8w7's are gonna be slightly underpowered, and also have quite a bit of mounting depth. If it weren't for the space issues I would probably have two 12 w6v2's or w7's with a 1000/1. A mid level 10" woofer still has alot of output and shallow enough mounting depth to be pratical.

I want a sub box like that for my Kicker Comp 12's, I haven't bought a box yet so the Kickers and my MTX amp are collecting dust in my bedroom floor. I'm going to get something going and get them in a box sometime this month. I'm going to replace all of the factory speakers and get either a Alpine or a Kenwood deck. What color backlight did you get for your radio dash kit? It looks like the same shade as the dash lights. Your system is looking sweet thats FOO SHOO!!

Thumbs up

Looks good, can you still put the seats all the way back>??? Looks like it will hit HARD! Any reason why you did not go for a closer color match on the carpet>???
Please post some pics once the subs are in(nevermind I am blind and on too many pain killers). -Mat-

I got the green LED backlighting, but i took out the stuff that comes with the kit to diffuse the light, and used only the whitish top cover, and a piece of green construction paper behind that.

I love the faceplate kit. I got it in blue.........

Hey MISTERgadget, Do you run any rear speakers (besides the subs)? I have some rear speakers and I was going to install them. I have a 300/4 JL amp for all the interior speaker. Are they worth installing?

I don't run any rear speakers, they are basically useless since the box covers most of their opening anyway.

The sets still go all the way back and recline pretty far, it's alot more comfortable than my old MDF box was.

Eventually I want to cover it with alcantara and/or leather, that standard gray box carpet is just temporary.
