Thinkin about a change

Hey guys, I'm thinkin about changing my set up. I currently run a 2# lower with ported blower and a 75shot, but I'm thinking of taking off the spray for now, and switching to an MP and 6# lower. How safe would this all be on the stock block ??

Also where is the best place (cheapest) to get the following.

MP Blower
MP Idler Brace
SCT Maf
60# injectors
Fuel Pumps

would I need anything else for the best combo ?

Also how much boost would I see if I kept my Ported blower, and went with a 6# lower/2.7upper combo ?? I have full exhaust on the truck.

if I go this route I'd do the above with the SCT Maf Magnum brace, would I need the injectors and pumps for this setup as well ?? What else would I need to run this setup effectively ?

A CC with A LOT of room on it

Josh, I think you can safely run a 6lb Lower, and the Mag 2.7 or maybe the the 3.0 Upper Pulley. Sal can most likely put a package deal together for you

SCREAMS like a Virgin is a Max Security Prison I tell ya....

I'd also like to hear the answer to this. I figure you'd need the new MAF, but does the stock setup deliver enough fuel? I'm sure quite a few run this setup by now.

(what's up Josh!)

So tempting for me to do that, but I won't.

Sorry I could help "a little" here

Personally I think once you hit 450 HP you will def need to address the stock fuel system, a Maf Extender (at the least), and prob Injectors and maybe Pumps ?

We tried it on the stock Fuel System and it was JUST enough as we hit the 475/596 mark. Actually it WASN'T ENOUGH would be a better way to put it. I say that because even with 50 LB injectors Sal had his hads full keeping the A/F below 12, especially in the upper RPMS. We ended up having to lower shift points till we installed Pumps. The Pumps alone with no other changes gave us a flat line AF of 11.8 across the board, JUST PERFECT.

So as it turns out, I now use a Maf Extender, 50lb Injectors, and the Bigger Pumps. However I do believe "you can just get away" with the stock set up if you keep it around 450 RWHP.

Remember I need more fuel for the Nitrous System, the stock pumps were clearly running out and DID NOT have more to flow.
I could have lived with it had I not needed more for the n20

We never tried it on the stock MAF, the extender is so cheap it pays to install it before trying, very easy install, BUT CAN NOT BE USED WITHOUT A RE-TUNE

Injectors are Def something I wanted, the 50's are fairly inexpensive, so it just made sense to install them while my Motor was going back in. Stock should be ok up to 450, but again you really never want to max out anything with our fuel system

10-4. Thanks.

By the way... can the SCT Maf be used with Predator software? If not, which one are guys using with the Predator, or Diablosport programs?

Lmao rob.....yeah, I'm just thinkin of different things I can do. I love my nitrous, and wouldnt sell it, but would probably take it off just so I'm not tempted. And I'm starting to want the piwer I have on spray, off of it....I think if I sell my ported blower I can get a couple hundred towards the MP, and then just gotta pay the rest. Its tempting.....gotta see what kinda deal sal could give me I guess.

BTW whats up Aaron, long time no talk !!

I run a 4lb lower, ported blower along with a 75 HP shot of nitrous. When I had it dyno tuned at JLP last year, it put out 478 RWHP. The A/F @ 3900 RPM is 11.9 and stays under 12.0 up to 5600 RPM. JLP thought that I may need the 255 fuel pumps before the dyno run but he got the tune right the first time. My point is you may be able to get away with not having to upgrade your fuel system.

Josh you don't need 60# injectors. 50# injectors will be fine for a 6# lower and either a ported eaton ot MP.

New fuel pumps, and a adjustable fuel pressure regulator would be a must though

I know Don, but I do plan on goin to a built motor sometime in the next 2years and I'd rather just get the 60s now and have them for then, than get 50s now and then pop for 60s when I go built...

but I was thinkin of a Kenne Bell BAP (boost a pump) as a temporary fix for the pumps....anyone have feedback on them ??

How much boost would I see with a 6# lower, 2.7upper, and Ported Blower ??

I run 50's in my built motor
I think with the right fuel system they are all you will need

My A/F ratio stays at 10.0 throughout the entire rpm range

Why so rich? (do you use nitrous from idle?)
You must get 5mpg.

If I am not mistaken I think Don's truck gets some pretty impressive MPG, something like high teens or maybe even 20>??? I could very well be wrong, but I thought I had heard that.

Josh I have all the injector you will need! -Mat-

Josh....I have a 4lb lower and 2.7 upper on my MP set up. I also use 50lb'rs and a bigger MAF. I dyno'd to 460hp, and ran out of fuel pump. My A/F was 11.8/12.0 for the entire range, and I have a very sluggish timing set up. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, BTW, I ran an 03 Cobra on the highway last night and was glued to his rear bumper until (I didn't look down much) around 140+ This MP is insane!
