Angry All ain't peaches'n'cream in the land of Lightnings...

Or, "Oil Consumption Issues, Part Deaux":

Well, I went and did an oil change yesterday, and I didn't like what I saw, so I took some pics for your amusement:

This is what it looks like under the intake boot:

Lots of oil and gunk. WTF?? I've heard of Lightning's having oil infiltration problems, but like *this*??

It's even crawling up the blower case...

This is the driver's side PCV vent, that runs to the boot:

Even making freakin' stalagmites:

Good shot from the boot back to the driver's side valve cover and PCV vent:

Here's how the throttle body looks:

So, I'm gonna try to get the dealer to clean this up, under the extended warranty, including pulling the blower and intercooler and cleaning them. If they don't, I'll end up doing it myself, dammit.

And, no matter what they do, I'm installing these:

This is how it'll look installed (this is passenger side):

The fit will be better, and it'll be mounted to the firewall. The second one will go on the other side, for the same reason. I'm also going to stuff steel wool into the lines just upstread of the valves covers, to help filter any oil mist as soon as possible.

Your intake boot is torn, thats why the oil is leaking down the fittings and tubes. You can see it by the rear hose clamp.

Someone screwed up the install (or, re-install) of your boot.

Oil leak like that means un-metered air is getting in, FYI.

Good Luck

My throttle body looked a little worse than that at 6k miles.

I cleaned it all up and have had a REM seperator ever since. My throttle body and intake elbo has been bone dry since.

Still have some evidence on my IC though. Still.. it's 100 times better than when stock.

mine looked worse.I went to the dealer and they said it was normal. I tried a LFP PCV KIT and had oil in the boot in a few thou miles. I put a ev98b pcv in the pass. valve cover, plugged the lower intake hose. That kept the boost pressure out of the engine. I also added a 3" hole and k&n to my stock airbox- this eliminates the vacc. in the boot before the t.b. that sucks the oil out the pass. valve cover and into the boot. 20,000 miles later and t.b. is still clean. The last thing you want is boost pressurizing the valve covers and crankcase.
Oil seperators dont fix the problem.

While trying to chase down my "lean code" the past few days. I noticed mine looked the same. Especially where the pcv hose from the passenger side goes into the boot in front of the blower. Lots of oil residue. I put a wire tie around it to hopefully seal it up better. Also I checked my K&N the oil from this problem attracted alot of dirt on the filter.

I hear the oil eats the intake gaskets too.

Looks like its time for a breather system.

As teamsls said there is a chunk missing from your intake boot thats why all the oil is all over the place you need a new intake boot.
