Stoked! Road trip to PSP.

Heading over to PSP to get the truck tuned by Sal on Thursday. Making the trip all the way from Ottawa Canada. Lucky for me a friend is riding down with me as well as two other buddies in their mustang so we are gonna make a road trip out of it. Leaving hear late Wednesday night and should arrive in Port Jefferson about 10.5 hours later with a couple of small stops. The right to Sal's shop for the fun.

We are staying the night and plan on doing some sight seeing. Would love to see ground Zero, Statue of Liberty etc. So basically get to NY at around 10AM, have some fun at PSP for a few hours, head to the hotel for some rest, then head out for some sight seeing and NY night life.

We were thinking of staying in NJ with regards to a hotel room but not sure. Anyone have any recommendations?

,Jason

pffffffft Been there, done that! Sal ROCKS! he'll explain everything as he's doing it. If you have questions, ASK!

The statute of liberty tour is a FULL DAY in itself.

I stayed in a hotel on Long Island, about 20 minutes from Sal's Shop. It was MUCH cheaper than the city.

What ever day you are leaving, make sure you are outtta the city by 4pm. Or you'll be stuck in the worst traffic on earth.

Take your video camera!

not a clue... we pulled up to the hotel LATE at night... actually it was early morning like 2am or so...

It was right off the highway that you take from the city to port jefferson.
We tried looking for the howard johnson, but couldn't find it, so we found this place and fel asleep before we hit the bed. (G/F and I)

not sure about jersey, there are plenty of hotels. but if you are only going to be in the city one night you should stay there. only thing is parking the L is going to be expensive. I love the Hudson hotel on the west side, i am staying at the Royalton next weekend. Both are trendy hotels. Hudson has an awesome bar and restuarant in it.

yeah

Sals shop is a ways from the City I believe. I took a wrong turn going to JDM and ended up right in the Heart of NYC. The most horrifying experience driving I have ever had. It's bumper cars and i was freaking out!!! People will smash you like it's nothing.

Any way, good luck and have a good time. I've been to NYC a few times but just take the greyhound from boston now.

Times Square is awesome. Lots of great restaraunts and attractions. ESPN Sportszone is the greatest!!!

Not a whole lot to see at Ground Zero anymore. I was there shortly after it happened and it was MINDBLOWING. But just the presence of standing there and all the images flashing through your mind...........it's an experience.

Screw the statue of Liberty tour and just head down to Battery Park on the Southern tip of Manhatten. Nice place, you can see the statue as well as Ellis Island.

If you are up near central park, a block from Carnagy Deli is another place called Broadway Deli. Great Sandwiches!!!

Are you a member of HALO? Andre mentioned something about a group of guys wanting to get him down here for some Nitrous tuning that Andre doesn't have much experience with.

If you are lets get this going if not are you serious?
I'm sure we could get more than enough guys to sign up to make this worth Sals time and ours!!

There`s a great hotel on Long Island. Commack Motor Inn. Been there a few times. Good rates, they charge by the hour too. Sal will recommend the Jungle Room.
