I'm running 15-16 psi with upper and lower pullies changed (Kenne Bell). she purrs like a kitten until you plant the throttle then it sounds like the devil himself is under the hood.

No idea about the power yet. Dyno coming this summer.

Generally 17psi would be a good amount for the street and that would be netted with the MP 2.70 upper and the 4lb lower. The Magnums really like to be spun hard. The best way to squeeze all the power out of them is too have them properly tuned on the dyno! We see generally between 465 and 500 on stock longblock trucks depending on supporting mods. Built motors we have made 600 and have had 2 ten sec trucks. Many trucks running mid to low 11's and stock Long blocks see mid to high 11's.

But how long will those trucks stay together?

All a matter of tune and how you drive it. Any truck running any setup other than stock runs that risk. At the power level of 450+ it is an even greater risk. But those who listen to there tuners, have their truck properly tuned, and maintain regular maintence with plugs, fuel filters, oil change, using proper fuel,etc... will be able to prolong their motors life expectancy.

same here, BOOM!

460 hp 560 tq with just about every bolt on you can do. lasted about 1 month, didn't drive it "hard" either, and truck was well maintained and dyno tuned.

this was with the 2.7 upper and 6lb lower

Question for You guys that have blown up?

Where you running bigger pumps, injectors, and a MAF that will not peg. My KB @ 21psi is only putting my MAF voltage at 4.55 volts. I am running a SCT maf, 60lb injectors, and twin 255lph HP intank pumps.

One of my freinds ran for over a year with this combo on the stock block. He did have faluire but there where other factors involved in causing his faluire.

I had the fuel pumps, a pro-m mass air (sct was not out at the time) 50lb injectors, full exhaust, and a dyno tune. ran 93 octane changed fuel filter every other oil change (I never found it to be dirty) and used the same gas stations. I had a aftermarket heat exchanger also.
it was mild out when my truck blew, cruising at 60mph went to pass another vehicle, less than 3/4 throttle, heard snap snap snap at about 70mph and a huge cloud of smoke. second rod/piston back on the drivers side. all the plugs looked fine when I pulled the heads, so did the piston tops. guess it wasn't my day.

had all the upgrades, 60# injectors, dual 255pumps, and pro-m maf. i didn't get to drive it any on the street, hauled it to the dyno, got two pulls, ran across the street to auto zone and when i came back the dyno garage had smoke rolling out of it i wasn't a happy camper. i think they saw 467 or 476 on the last pull before it gave out....at least thats what they told me!!!!!

If you look at all of the "boomers" registrations, they are 2001 to 2004.

Is it the MP or is it the POS > 2000 rods?
