Cabin-Inside-Klima...or so...

Hello everybody!

I've got a problem with my airflow inside the cabine of my L. Sometimes I've got "wind" on the floor position, also on the defrost, panel and A/C works fine. But sometimes I've got nothing!! Not the littlest breese in my truck...

The "booster" (I don't know the name of this "thing" on american... , but on german is this the "Geblaese") works perfect! And of course, if I go to the truck-dealer everything is fine and ok...

Knows anyone of you this problem? And what could be the ground?

Thanks a lot for your help....

the Swiss guy...Steve

Most of the controls are vacuum operated - Make sure you donty have a vacuum leak under the dash ... Sometimes you can hear the sucking sound the leak makes...

Yes, I've got sometimes little noises under the glovebox/radiostaion if I drive with airflow position "floor/defrost". Like a someone wispers.....Sounds funny, huh?
I don't know how write it.....

I've got and drive my Lightning one month now, and I'm lovin' it!!! Hope, this "airflowtrouble" will soon finished....

Once more: Thank you Doug!!!

Yep sounds like a vacuum leak - sounds like wssshhh wsshhhh wshhhh

You can pull the surround around the radio and ac controls off by sticking your fingers in the vents till they tilt out of the way then pull on the surround

Look down you will see lots of plastic tubing that is connected in the back of the AC controls - the controls direct vacuum to various doors and dampers under the dash -

Time to listen carefully to figure out what came disconnected or is spit

Good Luck

Doug, the temp control ***** are vacuum and not electric switches? That may be a problem for me. I am installing an overhead console out of a 97 expy, and I plan on relocating the climate controls to the overhead. I thought it was electrical, and that would be easy. But if they are pneumatic, that is a different story.

Yep....it's really this noise..."wsshhh...wsshhh..." etc! It must be this problem!
But it comes only about one or two hours "Lightningdrive". Then stoped the "breeze". Today I tested the whole airflow unit. If I put the airflow **** to the "panel" position, I must wait a few seconds, then came "wind" trough the outlets. Then I put the airflow **** back to the "floor/def" position and it works everything fine....

Good, I've got 1 year garantee...

Doug, thank you so much!!!!

P.S. Looking very good your L!!!

Its a combination of electric and vacuum -

Pull the radio surround off as described above and check it out

The vent, panel, ac control is vacuum

The Fan speed is electric and I think the tem control is vacuum as well - not sure ...
