Exclamation Could NOT believe it!!!

Traveling down the freeway here in So.Cali and came up behind what appeared to be a black L. Well as I come up along side I notice that the cab was painted white. I thought to myself "can't be", and sure enough as I pull up along side I see the Orange County Sheriff logo on the side of the truck. Are you kidding me??? Anyone else seen cops driving L's? I guess it's just typical O.C. Damn I need to become a cop! How fun would it be writing tickets in that thing all day, and at the expense of the department.

Ive heard of a few being used as "Recruitment/ PR tools" for Sheriff Dept's. Some Law Enforcement offices have seized 'cool vehicles' (drugs, multiple DUI offenses, etc) that do not get sold to the general public or a wholesaler and they keep them for fundraising, visiting school children, etc.

**cough Cough Detroit Mayor Patrick Kilwammee Cough Cough**

Said the NEW Navigator his wife was driving was seized by police. Police said HELL NO. THe mayor argued and argued that it was seized by the police. Over and over in press conferences, meetings and on the radio and TV. A month later it comes out that the crooked bastard bought his wife a navigator using city funds. He finally admits it.

Now it will be seized by police.

As it turns out - you're right - the Navigator was swept up by the police - however the police work for the good mayor and as such lied to the pubic just like the mayor, about what the Navigator was being used for, ha, ha. Not to mention the $24,995 ($5 under the limet that would have had to have been reported to the city council) paid to a certain dealership for a 2 yr lease - which most figure is about $500 a month more than anyone else would have paid for the same thing - as I-Menace notes; what scammer the mayor is.

That's why it's called the peoples republic of california. That would go over like a lead balloon here.

It's definitley a recruitment or DARE (anti-drug campaign) vehicle.

I've seen everything from Z06's to Monster Trucks used by departments for these types of things.
