The object of the cutting the bell housing, as I understand it, was to get access to the converter studs during install. I've seen it a few times, REM did it to their race truck, had the same result....I'll get a picture of the display, it's not here right now, but it should be back soon.

I really don't understand it though, it seems to me the converter studs are still in the same place on a 9 inch as they are on the 12 inch, I mean, the flexplate has not moved...strange...

Just like his transmission it's what I call "Joeyrigged". I think as a people we owe Mr. 'KILLA a debt of gratitude for such a timeless classic. Yes, all Monster Boxes come with a 2 year parts and labor warranty. Both of the boxes mentioned here that have problems were built in 2002 I think, but before the warranty was offered.

I guess it's a good think Joey's father owns his own co. and gave him a job, otherwise he would have had to practice saying "would you like to super size that?" Not the sharpest tool in the shed apparently.

 

So chances are Joey is responsible for his tranny's going out by cutting on the case with a sawzall. What I'm interested in seeing is Greggs explanation as to why Madness and St.Elmos Fire have gone through 10 Monster Boxes combined. Did they cut on theirs as well?

 

No cutting on any of my trans... between each trans change, a new trans cooler was installed, and the last trans even got new transmission lines to insure the system was clean... no cutting.. EVER...
