Do a search - with my user name - for gaskets.

You'll find a complete list of what's reuired for a motor build as far as gaskets and timing parts. Expect MUCH more than just $360 if you are swappinging any timing parts.

I'll add it up and post when I get home. I wound up using three different sources - eBay, FordPartNetwork.com and a SV on ModularFords.

I'll put up some more detail to 'ease the pain' a bit, but it was close to $600 for everything (at least I think and hope it's everything).

This group came from FordPartsNetwork, before I found Steve on ModularFords. I have these in hand right now.

4C2Z-6051-BA Head Gasket LH ($65.65)
4C2Z-6051-AA Head Gasket RH ($65.98)
1L3Z-9439-AA Intake Manifold Gasket (x2) ($29.86)
E83Z-9F670-A Idle Air Control Valve Gasket ($0.56)
XL1Z-6L266-AA Timing Chain Tensioner RH ($31.02)
F85Z-6K255-AA Timing Chain Tensioner Arm RH ($12.92)
2L1Z-6M256-AA Timing Chain Guide RH ($12.31)
F85Z-6M274-AA Timing Chain Tensioner Arm LH ($12.92)
XW4Z-6700-AA Front Crank Oil Seal ($8.30)
F6AZ-6840-BA Oil Filter Adapter Gasket ($6.51)
1L3Z-6P250-AA Hydraulic Chain Tensioner Retaining Clip ($11.60)
2L3Z-6584-AA Valve Cover Gasket, LH ($10.05)
2L3Z-6584-BA Valve Cover Gasket, RH ($10.05)
XL3Z-9L437-CA Plenum Gasket ($6.10)

This batch came from Steve on ModularFords.com and total out at about $273. I have ordered these, but not recieved them yet.

F1VY-8255-A Thermostat Housing O-Ring
3L3Z-6710-AA Oil Pan Gasket
F6TZ-6268-AA Timing Chain RH
F642-6L266-CA Timing Chain Tensioner LH
F6TZ-6268-AA Timing Chain LH
XL3Z-6306-AA Crank Sprocket
F4AZ-6701-A Rear Main Oil Seal
F6TZ-9D476-DA EGR Gasket
F81Z-9E936-AA Throttle Body Gasket
1L3Z-9H486-BA Blower Gasket
1L3Z-9461-BA Midplate Gasket
F8AE-6256-BA Cam Gear (L)
F8AE-6256-AA Cam Gear (R)
F1AZ-6278-A (x2) Washer (L/R)
F1AZ-6A340-A (x2) Bolt (L/R)
F3AZ-6256-A (x2) Spacer (L/R)

I picked a set of exhaust manifold gaskets (YC2Z-9448-CA) off eBay for $11, but they list out at $28.80 each x 4

So far - $620 plus one more round of shipping (~$15), but there are a couple thing I didn't need...to the tune of about $25

1) Rear main comes with the new JDM short block
2) tensioner clips are pre-installed on the new tensioners, so I didn't need to order them seperately.

Sorry for the long post, but you wanted the details

BTW - this is not all required for the top end - this list is based on a total motor build-up. What you wind up needing will depend on what you yank. Many of the gaskets (INCREDIBILY HIGH QUALITY) appear to be reusable, but I'm not going to gamble with a close to 5 digit investment.

Yeah Mike I think its the same place - in Michigan or Wisconsin or someting like that. I still need to get a pump pick-up, but I got the oil pan on eBay also - used on for $24 including shipping. The brocken rod didn't hole my pan, but it did mangle the baffles in the shallow end. On the pick-up tube, I want to have the short block in hand before I buy, to make sure I get the right one.

BTW - the JDM shortblock came in Wednesday, but its still at my office. I wasn't going to post about it until I got it home and could get some pictures. Looks good through the plastic though!

Whose heads and cams did you go with? I'm thinking between Patriot or LFP - Stage II in either case. I haven't put in the order yet, so the cam availablility may affect that for me.

Thanks,
Herb
