does anyone know how to take apart the over head consol and ill make something or figure out something osme way or another...

 

Well the gray plastic portion is easy to remove. There is 1 screw in front of the compass display (facing the windshield) and the back half is held in by 2 or 3 tab clips. I am going off memory here from a radar detector install, but I think that's all that is holding the gray part up. The sunglass and garage door lids are part of the gray half. I believe the black part that will remain in the roof is held in by additional screws, but I would bet most of our problems are in the lower gray portion.
