I had a ticking at cold startup for the last few days, and after work I started up the truck and it shook really bad...........similar to when my IAC was stuck, so I figured thats what it was and I limped it home 5 miles. It runs like *** and makes a putt-putt noise.
I lost my haynes manual, but my hand held SCT tuner read the codes and I have a "cylinder 4 misfire" and the SES light is on.
Which cylinder is #4?
If it spit a plug, who can do a heli-coil?
I REALLY dont want to take it to a dealer if i dont have to!
Any help would be awsome b/c I'm renting a damn Hyundia right now to go to and from work

The TICK TICK was prolly the plug getting ready to blow ...
Do you know how to check all your plugs? If not, you prolly
can get someone local to help you out. I expect you will
discover the plug loosely laying there.
Good Luck and sorry about your problem.
This is the first vehicle that I have owned where the coil packs sit on top of the spark plugs so I'm a bit new to that.... I'm used to following
I dont see anything like what you describe, although thats what I expected to see. I will check once I get home to make sure.
Since I lost my Haynes manual, whats the numbering of the cylinders? Maybe I just have a really burnt-to-**** plug.

It's cool man. I just want to get this thing back on its feet and over to CarMax to trade in on an 03........
My 99 L has been nothing but trouble. Leaking I/C, all kinds of noises, and now whatever this situation is.......
I did a quick inspection yesterday and all the coilpacks looked in order.
