Converter ?

What converter are the street racers using? Trying to figure out which one is going to be the easiest to launch on street tires on the street.

Casey,
I am getting a PI 2500 stall in about a week or so and will let you know how it acts on street tires. If I can make it over to BK one night I will let you drive and see how you like....

Pro-torque 2600. Excellent street converter and uses single plate disc. Cost is extremely fair. I have put 30k on mine since I installed it in '01 and it has performed flawlessly.

Mat has gone in the 10.9x's w/ his, along with several passes in the low-mid elevens. His truck is driven often on the street as well.

I was hoping when i get my buil motor in to add a stall but i didnt think it would do any good on street tires. Its almost like there are a few of us who need a stronger tq converter but with a 1,2-1400 stall

That is exactlly what I was thinking! I am very worried about how a factory converter would do at 600+HP

Its WAYYYY better than stock. I can even drive my 03L on wet pavement now since I have the stall.

You just have to "finesse" the throttle and it works just fine for launching on the street.
