Coolant change ?'s

While searching for cooling system info I stumbled across this: http://www.evanscooling.com/main27.htm Has anybody tried this product? Will it work in our coolant prohibitive systems? Also, I don't have a factory service manual and was wondering, is the intercooler system completely seperate from the engine cooling system, or will draining/flushing the main system service both? I've always used the Prestone flush & fill system on my other vehicles but have not looked into where the "T" could be installed yet. Anybody using one on a Lightning? I have 12,500 miles on my truck and just ordered a 160 Tstat and would like to do a complete coolant change. Thanks for the help.

The intercooler has its own seperate cooling thats what the resivor above the fan shroud is for. As for changing the fluid if you only have 12,500 miles you dont have to change the fluid its still practically brand new.

Since your in Fla you can run a 70% water and 30% coolant mixture. This will be your best balance of cold / boiling protection and heat disipation.

I noticed I have green coolant in the intercooler resevoir and the yellow coolant that is specified in the owners manual in the resevoir for the radiator. I thought they were both supposed to be yellow? If I need to change out the green for the yellow, and since they can't intermix, how would I completey purge the green from the intercooler? Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it.

I've always used water wetter and will again. So anybody using the prestone flush& fill system here? It works well to completely flush the system with the water preussre provided by a garden hose. I could not find a suitable location to install the "T" on my Jeep so couldn't use it, but if possible I would like to install one on the Lightning. After completely flushing I like to refill with distilled water, run it, drain it, refill with distilled water again, run it, drain it and then add coolant, two bottles of water wetter and top off with distilled water. Doing this every 12 to 15k keeps the radiator and water jackets nice and clean.
