Its a manual shifted turbo 400 tranny with a brake, and the tach has some neat features like playback, its got a senser on the driveshaft to record driveshaft speed compared to engine speed that will tell me how the converters working and if I'am getting any wheel spin, and its downloadable to a laptop.

WOW! The turbo 400 tranny is by far the best tranny GM ever offered. I had one in my 89 GMC with a valve body upgrade. That thing was great. I loved the fact that you could manually shift it and it would _actually_ go into gear when you told it to. The 4R100 sits there and thinks about it for a while which pretty much took all the fun out of road coarse racing. I can't believe that it is possible to mount a TH400 to a Ford 5.4! That is so cool that I may crap my pants!

hey crash.. you see the tach fine from the drivers seat.... but what you mainly look at is the shift lite on the a piliar for shift points. you program what rpm's you want the light to come on.. at the end of the run you download all the info to a pc...pretty cool... with the sensor on the drive shaft you can tell what the converter is doing.....
