OK I think I am officially ready...

Well, I have been lurking around here for a few months now since I bought my L, and I am officially ready to start with the mods. I have assembled a list of what I was going to do from what I have read on this board. Will you veterans take a look and let me know if I am missing anything?

This is a 2004 L, not a daily driver, but not a drag racer either. It will probably never hit a dragstrip, more of a fun Friday and weekend cruiser.

Mods so far:
1. 2" rear shackles
2. $27.00 Grille Mod
3. FTVB (in Garage will be installed this week)
4. Bedrug

Planned Mods (1-5 done at once)
1. JLP Intake
2. 4lb Lower
3. Ported Eaton
4. Chip from Sal or I am going to try a dyno tune from the local guy here, Lamotta Performance.
5. TR6 Plugs
6. Bassani cat back
7. Misc audio upgrades

That is about all i know for now. What other suggestions do you guys have? Remember, it isn't a drag strip truck, I will need to keep some sort of reliability. BUT I don't mind paying a little money for fun parts either short of swapping out the blower. i want to wait a few thousand miles until I am ready for a built block for that.

Thanks for the help.

Tom

Hey Tom.

Looks to me like your right on the money for what your wanting.

I would suggest one thing. Traction bars. Not so much for aiding traction but more to prevent the rearend from twisting/overextending when the FTVB hits. If you don't want something hanging down maybe the metco uppers would suit you best?

Thanks guys, JLP Traction bars seem to be pretty popular. What do you think?

Boost by-pass or at the very least unplug it.

Also , even though your not going to race a lot a Line-Lock kit. I know it seems extreme but in reality it is one of the best mods to save parts (maybe not so much for tires.LOL) especially warping brakes, heating up the tranny, undo stress on the drivetrain. It is not a lot of money, VERY EASY to install (20 minutes TOPS) and there only when you need it.

He does'nt need to unplug the boost by pass. He says he *not* going to race it.

Disintegr8or, Just look/measure at how it came from the factory when you take the blower off for porting. Then when it comes back reset it about 1mm past touching. (do a search and you'll see how to set it all up. Or e-mail me. I've got good pics)

I've got the JLP 58" bars on mine. Only real issue is that some aftermarket exhausts will slightly hit on really big bumps or if not adjusted properly. Mine did... but all I had to do was spend a little time adjusting the brackets that hold the mufflers up. And now it's got a decent 2" - 3" clearance w/ no hitting.
