I had 500rwhp and 535rwtq on my motor. It was a Modular Performance built lower, regenagade racing stage 2 heads, crower stage 2 cams, apten ported blower with the 2.7 upper pulley, a 4# lower pulley, LT headers, 255 pumps, 60lb injectors, sct meter, CAI, SBTB. You get the idea. And with a 100 shot of nitrous had 570rwhp and 683rwtq. Hope this helps.

The way these things go is that they just "might as well" themselves together. Blocks coming out - Might As Well do heads, etc., etc., etc., etc. until the money's all gone

Herb
I hear ya Herb I'm contemplating dropping $10,000 + on a complete built longblock, including install. It's A LOT of $$$$$$.

Not really the same thing though Steve

I NEVER would have thought about dropping $10k in the motor AHEAD of time. It's just the way the receipts add up Damn calculator must be broke.

Sounds like I may be in for some real good numbers with this combo. [trying to not raise my expectations to only be floored later]

Herb

BTW - assembly of long block, R&R of engine and all accessories as well as all tuning labor is free as this is all my time. The dyno time will need to be added in - unless I can get a local sponsor!!!!!!! (OK - yeah, right)

Mike - I'd also like to know the balance of your set-up for those numbers. Sweet power! I am trying to figure my power increase conservatively, but I hesitate to nail down a number - I don't want to be disappointed if it falls short.

Herb
that post said they use manley rods, which is true, but it doesnt say what pistons. I am just telling you because I bought their JDM pistons, and they are probe. This was 2 months ago.

I am running a similar ported Eaton combo w/5 x 2 pullies (14# boost and no spray) and making 525 hp and 11.5 passes. Motor still needs some tuning.

Bob - thant's inspiring, but I'm not giving in to optimism yet . I'm a cynic - show me MY dyno numbers, then I'll celebrate

I want SO bad to think about the power levels, but I need to concentrate on getting the package together and tune for reliability and take what power comes.

Goat - the post does leave SOME room for interpretation but this line for the post ....

"JDM/Manley Rods/Pistons"

and this email....

"Herb
The Short block is .020 Over, Manley Rods & Pistons, New Steel Crank, ARP Main studs, Near Rear Main, New oil pump, All Blocks are Sonic tested, Balanced & Blueprinted.
Let me know how interested you are, you can buy head studs, and oil pan for extra if needed.

confirm it for me.

It may be part of this round of motors.

I'll be picking up my Lightning tomorrow from REM with built block.

Diamond forged racing pistons, H-Beam rods, Xtreme Energy Comp Cams Stage II, Patriot Ported heads, C&L Intake Plenum, 2.8 upper & 6 lower, JBA Headers, Magnaflow x-pipe & mufflers, REM ported SC.

Will be tuned for brake in period. Then have the Dyno tune afterwards. Looking for 500 RWHP.

make sure the heads have plenty of threads for the spark plugs, if not, you may want to add some timeserts.

Rob, has 13 threads on his Sparkplugs. (I think it was 13 threads, it was a few weeks ago)

Thanks for the tip on that L-menace.

The heads I am going with have that situration dealth with already.

For anyone else thinking of doing heads - there is NO better time to take this precaution.

Anybody running a ported Eaton with Stage II heads? I've searched but, not come up with much. I know that in my new setup, the Eaton will likely be the "weak spot", but I am curious as to what to expect. My previous Dyno was 400/510 with the %3 lower, CAI and Hi-Flow mids on stock exhaust.

My setup will be:

built short block (no power - just support)
Stage II Heads (added power)
Comp Cams HE270 aka Stage II cams (added power)
a ported Eaton (power added)
ported upper plenum (power added)
a 2# upper pulley (power added)
a 5# lower pulley (no power - was already there)
Long tubes (power added)
Hi Flow cats (no power - already there)
Bassani X-pipe cat-back (power?)
60# injectors (no power - just support)
255 lph pumps (no power - just support)
SCT PRP tuning by me (power? - I hope so!)
Open Element CAI - (no power - already there)
58" traction bars (already there)
MT ET Streets 28x11.5

I'd love to top this with a Whipple, a KB or a MP, but it looks like my money tree stopped bearing fruit.

Thanks,
Herb
I got a friend who has a JLP built motor whos gonna run a ported eaton. Regular heads I think but with stage 2 cams, if you think u wanna ask him a q's PM or email me and I'll get you in touch with him.

As soon as I get engine tuned and get best numbers from Eaton, I plan to do a bigger blower. Never fast enough it seems
