porting blowers?

Hey guys/gals, I have been reading up on this for a while now because it seems like something that everyone does. However I am still not sure what exactly porting the supercharger is and how it works. Where can I get this done? Do I send mine out and get a different one back or do they do work on mine? I am just trying to figure out what my options are, and I know that this is the place to go. Thanks a lot.

The search police are gonna git ya...

So, here ya go in advance: Ported Blower

Lots of reading material. In a nutshell: Porting helps reduce the temps after the intercooler (more air across the fins on the I/C); and there's a lot of vendors and people who will port on the side.

I recommend going with the person who started the Lightning porting - Stiegemeier. He did mine, and hundreds of others. I don't think you'll find one single complaint. He knows what he is doing, and R&R's your blower as well.
