NOOOOOOOO

On the other hand, the AWD will be a WRX/STI/EVO killer with a good launch

390HP AWD, overweight... not going to be much of a performer.

Well, at least our L's will still be worth something - collector's truck

Top level managers just simply don't get it.

with the practicality of four-passenger seating, four doors,
We want a SVT because it *is'nt* practical. It's a rip-snorting beast of a car or truck. Baby seats and AWD don't have any business being in my SVT. I like to steer with the rear and leave the little ones in moms SUV thank you.

What complete idiots.... They drop the F150 lightning and come out with a awd "squad".

It blows my mind how a company that can make something SOOOO right like the 05 stang GT... and can try to come to market with this.. this.. awww I give up.

Totally unreal , Keep the tow trucks busy setting them on there wheels again.

Weres the brains, If I drive like a loonitick I do it alone, not with 3 other people with me. I don't normally speed with passengers especially the kids. IMHO, they lost the rationalish on SVT.

Well, I think it looks better than the Lightning Concept did. A 5.4 would have been nice; but, the Cobra motor will do. I can't say I would buy one; but, I like it.

here's an idea.

Cut the rear seats out of it, remove the rear doors, make the bed a little longer. Viola a LIGHTNING.

I Personally like the idea of AWD!

390hp isn't bad, as long as the RODS in it are strong enough to handle another 150hp.

I think FORD needs to pull it's head out of its a$$.

Listen up Ford. you have a PROVEN product in the lightning. Why the HELL are you going to experiment with a new UNPROVEN product?

Ever want me to purchase another ford product? Then produce a lightning!

Not an indication of how many was sold or whatnot, but it tends to answer the popularity question of the Sport Trac to a degree.

Ford wants high volume sales. Dont expect this to be some exclusive vehicle. SVT no longer stands for exclusivity thats been evident for some time.

Anyhow, to those of you who say if Ford wants to keep me they will build another lightning guess your gonna be out of luck. They dont want you to buy another lightning they would prefer if brought regular f150. Ford = run by bean counters.

They want volume sales. So enjoy the improved sliveraldo SS, ha. It aint that bad, at least it is supercharged. However im sure the weight of that thing will be about 5400+ pounds killing that. Yeah you can put a pulley on it, but 4.6 liters of displacement in something that big is overkill and you will prolly grenade the motor.

Its a nice Harley replacement though.

I have to agree, I also think it looks better then Gen III,
Slap a Whipple on it, AND WAM OVER 500 PONYS.
I did a story on the future of SVT in next months E-Zine, and included this article.

Although Ford has screwed "us", I don't mind it for a year or two, the Gen II L's are having major Mod and Technoligy advances lately via our Tuners and Vendors, THEY KEEP GETTING FASTER AND SAFER. In a few years I won't be able to continue driving (2) brand new Vehicles, got to think of JR going to College, and paying for him to drive some day. Something like this may be just what the Doc ordered for someone looking for an all around family "and fun vehicle"

BUT I DO WANT TO SEE A GEN III LIGHTING TOO
