Its a thunder, NOT a lightning! What is it?
i honestly dont see whats to gain by harassing the guy...
sure it is only a v6, and the tach and throttle body spacer, well arent things i would do to my truck, but i have a a v6 and dont consider my truck a turd...
im sure he knows that his truck is not near the category of a lightning, but there is nothing wrong with being proud of what u own. JMHO

Smok][n,
I actually agree with you and there isn't anything wrong with being proud of what you own but to talk up a 'Thunder' like it's some ultra rare '69 ZL-1 motored Bow Tie cracks me up. Sure the guy's got a decent looking truck but it appears he drank a little too much of the previous owner's Kool-Aid. When you get right down to it, it's still just a V6 F150 with a few dress-up parts...and I'll be the first to tell you that my truck is still just a truck with a decent motor in it. And a Buy-It-Now of $15,500..c'mon now.
Just because I can get a dealer to paint my new truck flourescent pink and badge it as a 'Vaseline Edition F150' doesn't make it worth any more than a standard F150.

BTW, it looks like they converted an XL (look at the inside doors, window crank) I have an XL I want to convert to an XLT (well the options anyway) Oh well.

and LOL @ 'Vaseline Edition F150'
Well, it is 1 of 6 ever produced by Ford motor company...I don't care if it's a pinto, it's a lot more limited than any of our trucks...It would be one heck of a collector's item...Just because it isn't fast doesn't mean that it's not a Ford truck, it's still an F-150, and I certainly wouldn't rag on him for not being able to afford a Lightning or maybe wanting better mileage. It's not like he just threw those badges on the truck, it's from Ford that way, so it really isn't rice. I never saw him claim that it was fast or anything other than it being rare, and 1 of 6 is certainly rare. I think this is the same one...

Sure, the owner did not ask for this abuse. I admit that I feel sorry for him with the abuse that he got in that e-mail. But he did buy one stupid-*ss truck, so he has to take some responsibility for his complete lack of taste.
Show me the Ford option sheet. I see no proof that this was a Ford option. It was probably a dealer build, not a Ford one. Ford would have had a real badge not a sticker over a KR badge. Ford would have used the black STX or L-style rear bumper to continue the black theme. I can believe a dealer trying to make a special edition but not Ford. If Ford did it there would have been brochures or ads for it. My dealer has done things like this. Heck he was selling escorts and tempos with landau roofs! They also have the New England Patriot package for the trucks.
i dont think they actually used the badge off a king ranch. i believe u would see the recessed lettering show through if they just stuck a sticker on it. it looks like it was a blank kr badge which means they would have to get it from ford...
i drive both a v6 5 speed, and a lightning. Both are nice trucks in their own way.
the v6 is a little 4x2, and i have driven past stuck f150's and jeep wranglers (and cherokee's for that matter) in the snow. The truck only has some alll terrain tires, but it holds its own. My buddies are amazed when they see me putting down the road in 5 inches of snow.
The lightning is good for when it is 60is, warmer and dry outside. Then i pass everything no matter what it is doing.
Little v6 has around 140k on it, only major problem was a shift fork broke when my bro decided to slam 2nd gear

That little slapfight on nloc is even funnier!! I love how these guys do a halfa** clone job , then get combative and defensive. Just kills me.
And y'all are telling me that Ford hasn't ever made anything else that is ugly or tacky? Doesn't change the fact that it is an extremely rare collector's item...There wouldn't be very many brochures or sales or ad campagins if there were only 6 of them sold...
