Wrecked Lightning

Ahhh I'm sick to my stomach.

A UPS truck driver waved for another driver to pull out of a parking lot -only she decided to cross the lane of traffic. I was on the inside turn lane doing about 20-25 and the nose of her Accord clipped my passenger door, part of the bed and nicked my exhaust. It's not real bad, nobody was hurt. No airbags went off or anything.

I jumped out of my truck -livid, chewing nails...and this girl looked scared. I asked if she was OK -and she replied Yes, I'm so sorry...that was the end of it. Honest mistake by a young driver. I remember a time when I made a foolish mistake and the other driver didn't rip into me.

Officer wrote it up that she was 100% at fault, but didn't site her for negligence -I agreed with that.

This was one day after having a custom stereo montor, dvd, satellite and music keg installed...ugh. I'm going to drink heavily (at home of course).

You did the right think not chewing her out, since it was an honest mistake. Glad no one was hurt. Just take the truck to a good body shop and it will be a happy ending.

Bummer Flord but I agree you did the right thing and handled it very well. I am very **** 'bout my lightning and would have been pissed too. However I have a teenage daughter that drives it and the world is full of a##holes and I worry about her. Good job not being one!

Sorry to hear about your truck, mine got hit a month after I bought it new, turned out I work with the kids dad that hit me. Be sure you get it to a good body shop, I took mine to Ford and they complete screwed mine up, dry spray on the bed side, overspray all over, bumper miss aligned, real bad job.

good luck!

Why can't people just obey the law instead of thier "feelings". Good intentions don't always equall a good outcome.

I'm not flaming you really, but people need to learn that some of the most incompetent body men work at dealers. Unless you're friends/family with someone there, you more than likely will get screwed. Take it to an independent body shop through word of mouth. You will have better luck 9 times out of 10.

Sorry to hear about the accident; you handled it properly. Now let's hope that her insurance works with your chosen body shop as properly. Fixing your truck to the WAY you want it to be will take multiple inspections (if you're like me - coined the phrase: ARKRO - **** Retentive King Ranch Owner) of the body work prior to any prime and then further checking before the accessories are re-installed.

Good luck. BTW - are you pushing for another "L" to drive while yours in being fixed? AT least they can do is rent you one, right?!!!
