Yes, I had that one myself, switched to the Bassani. But I'll tell you, going from 4 cats to 2 makes a much bigger difference than that cat-back did as far as noise.

Absolutely correct. Its the cats that produce the "loud" interior noise. My pal Dean put the dynamat under the carpet and (important) up the rear of the cab (about 18 inches) and it made a huge differance. We can talk and enjoy the stereo but it sounds awesome from the outside of the truck. That seems the way to go.

I know what you mean. I had a small bodied single Magnaflow in place of my stock muffler for over a year before the full exhaust. The smaller year old Magnaflow was quieter than the new large bodied Magnaflow with LT's and high flow cats. The single large bodied Magnaflow has been the quietest muffler that will fit under there so far.

The FloPro looks mighty promising though from what I saw and hear today.

Thats the same thing I did, awesome exterior sound, but much more liveable inside the cab after the sound deadener install

SAL / PSP ALREADY HAS and I'm the test mule : o )

I had a special request for Sal when I went there, and that was TO HEAR MY WHINE, I'M A WHINE LOVER AND ALWAYS WANT TO HEAR IT.

PSP Headers (Custom Built to his Spec's)

PSP Hi Flo Cat's (Custom Built to his Spec's) mine are 3" x 2-1/2"

and back into the factory Pipes and Muffler

If we can put down over 625 HP with them, it will be a total success. (my L's snowed in, and hasn't moved in over a week)
@$(^%@$(@#$%(@#$%(@#$
as soon as I get some more miles on it, it will be Dyno Time.
I can say, the sound is NONE on the parkway (ZERO, NOTTA, ZILCH,) You can listen to the radio on #2.

And around town, when you hit it, it's perfect.....................

Most have heard mine alreay I'm sure
(if you listen hard, you can still hear the whine, hehehehehe)

I should note this audio file was made on a cam corder from the 70's (or something), the wind noise kind of ruins it, the exhaust is very very quiet, (unheard would be a better way to put it)
I was just crusing around, hitting the power off and on throughout the day. This Audio file does it no justice, it's very quite

Longtubes

I would agree that the long tubes themselves don't make the majority of the noise. There was a lightning at the track that had the Kooks longtubes, with some sort of stock ford cats and stock muffler and it wasn't louder than stock.......from what i remember stock sounding like

Probie had a set of high flow cats and mufflers on his truck before going to headers and they were LOUD. I don't think that the headers added that much to it.

So i would have to say the high flow cats are what's making the racket.

I don't know why you would want to bother putting headers on without doing the highflows. Unless you are up over 500 hp i don't think there would be much of a difference between headers and stock manifolds. I've already seen dyno proof that the high flow cats are resposible for the majority of the power gains. MAJORITY, not all. The headers are worth something, especially more in the mid range but that Mean Header/highflow sound is unmistakable.
