Stainless Steel Engine Bolt Chart

Go to http://www.boltdepot.com/ to order any of these bolts. The only problem I ran into was finding a button bolt that was 70mm long for the plenum (the one large bolt). You can either get a hex or socket bolt for that one. I also included the hex and socket bolts to match if you decide you want all the plenum bolts to match. You can roughly get a complete replacement set of bolts for the blower for around $50. Polishing is up to you.

All my bolts where measured with there online tools, I actually printed out the sheets and then measured existing bolts to there charts. I am pretty sure most are the right size, but I could be wrong. This is a good starting point for anyone that is interested in doing this yourself for a decent price.

The List:

ENGINE STAINLESS STEEL BOLTS SIZES

(8) SUPERCHARGER SNOUT = M8 x 45 x 1.25 (P/N 6661 / 1.10) $8.80
(2) EGR = M8 x 35 x 1.25 (P/N 6659 / .90) $1.80
(2) BOOST CANISTER = M8 x 20 x 1.25 (P/N 6656 / .60) $1.20
(1) BLOWER PULLEY = M8 x 25 x 1.25 (P/N 6657 / .75) $0.75
(2) WATER NECK (HEX BOLT) = M8 x 90 x 1.25 (P/N 5827 / 1.90) $3.80
(20) M6 SHORT = M6 x 20 x 1.00 (P/N 6646 / .31) $6.20
(15) M6 LONG = M6 x 30 x 1.00 (P/N 6648 / .42) $6.30
(4) BLOWER LARGE BOLT = M10 x 100 x 1.50 (P/N 5842 / 2.10 ) $8.40
(2) CATCH CAN BOLT = M8 x 40 x 1.25 (P/N 6660 / 1.05) $2.10
(2) MAS = M4 x 15 x 0.7 (P/N 6625 / .19) $0.38
(5) PLENUM SHORT (HEX BOLT) = M6 x 70 x 1.00 (P/N 5804 / 0.24) $1.20
(1) PLENUM LONG (HEX BOLT) = M6 x 70 x 1.00 (P/N 5812 / 0.85) $0.85
(5) PLENUM SHORT (SOCKET BOL) = M6 x 30 x 1.00 (P/N 6421 / .44) $3.52
(1) PLENUM LONG (SOCKET BOLT) = M6 x 70 x 1.00 (P/N 6429 / 1.25) $1.25

ENGINE STAINLESS STEEL NUTS AND WASHERS

(2) SS NYLON NUT = M6 (P/N 4795 / 0.11) $0.22
(5) SS NYLON NUT = M8 (P/N 4797 / 0.22) $1.10
(8) SS NYLON NUT = M10 (P/N 4779 / .25) $2.00
(35) M6 WASHER = M6 (P/N 4516 / .06) $1.80
(20) M8 WASHER = M8 (P/N 4518 / .07) $1.40
(4) M10 WASHER = M10 (P/N 4519 / .12 ) $0.48

* All are Stainless Steal Button Bolts unless noted. Quantities/Part #'s are what I need to finsh my project, not what you might need to do yours.

If enough people are interested in a kit I can put one together. It would be cheaper as this company offers 100 unit boxes at a discount.

How many kits do you want to make. I cant't do the 1-2 pieces of each. Probably 100 pieces would be the smallest quantity of each I can do. Please keep in mind that stainless is not as strong as heat treated steel. If any of the parts above replace a part that is graded higher than 8.8 the stainless will be weaker. Anything 8.8 and below is fine. 9.8, 10.8, 12.8, etc will all be stronger than the stainless.

I know, I also know the maximum torq specs for the ss parts.

I'm pretty sure there will not be a 100 people interested, thanks anyway.

I should have figured you would have done your homework. If you get enough interest just let me know. Looking at you prices you would only need to sell about 25 kits to come out even.

True Also keep in mind that Stainless likes to streach (the threads) and you will need to Never Sieze the crap out of them. I wouls also not recomend any air powered tools on them being they don't like heat from friction and WILL SIEZE UP and you will have alot of fun taking them out.
Stainless is nice looking but not to functional for most Auto applications too many dissimaler metals for it to react with and seize up and if you ever stripp one you'll need alloy dies to rethread or it will gual-gouge(sp) the metal
I work with alot of stainless pipe where I work (316L) and it sucks when you have to thread it nothing but leaks,Now welding it is sweet no slag all nice and purdy...
Just my .02
Slick

I've already bought all stainless harware for my blower and upper plenum...bought everything in bags of 100 from my neighbor to the tune of about $100 total (she works for Barnes, a company who sells fasteners of all kinds, and has set me up with an account with their largest discount possible). I bought socket head bolts for the simple reason that the allen insert on the button heads is usually smaller than the allen insert on a socket head bolt...the socket head is far less likely to strip when torquing them to even 20-33 ft.-lbs. (I've been there and done that with the socket head bolts previosuly...)
